WISSA 2019 Ice & Snow Sailing World Championships @ 1/2 mile off shore from Sunset on the Water Grill & Bar

Get ready for the pinnacle in ice and snow sailing. The Alliant Energy World Ice and Snow Sailing Championships come back to Fond du Lac in 2019. The event will be held on the southeast corner of Lake Winnebago and will feature racers from around the globe.  If you interested in competing, please visit WISSA 2019.

Downtown Spear the Beer Specials
presented by Lakefront Brewery @ Various bars throughout downtown Fond du Lac

Purchase a commemorative Sturgeon Spectacular mug at Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts all weekend – while supplies last (Must be 21 years or older).   You can then use that mug to “Spear the Beer” and other drink specials at participating downtown locations.  No alcohol consumption or possession will be allowed outside of each establishment or event space.

Shantytown Fun at Children’s Museum of Fond du Lac @ Children's Museum of Fond du Lac

Bring the whole family out to the Children’s Museum for indoor and outdoor fun! Activities may include: design your own sturgeon fish decoy, construct a mini shanty, take a picture with the Museum’s giant Paper Mache sturgeon replica, enjoy hot cocoa and snacks, and explore the Museum’s exhibits including an outdoor sturgeon fishing simulation.  Fun for all ages.

Downtown Curling Funspiel
presented by Horicon Bank @ ModTruss Headquarters
Feb 9 – Feb 10 all-day

Learn to Curl with USA Hockey Olympians and representatives and participate in the Inaugural Downtown Curling Fond du Lac Funspiel. This tournament is designed to teach beginners the world of curling and have some fun in the process. Each match will last about one hour. All curling equipment will be provided. The tournament is scheduled for Saturday & Sunday. Open to all ages and levels. Get your team of 4 – 6 people together and sign up with Pete Wilke via email (pwilke@fdl.com). Registration for a team is $50.

Learn to Curl begins at 9 AM (Saturday)

Downtown Snow Land presented by Ahern @ Downtown Fond du Lac
Feb 9 – Feb 10 all-day
Visit Downtown Snow Land presented by Ahern. Bring the kids and play on the Big Hill, or join in the amateur snow sculpting competition and other activities on Saturday and Sunday!
 
Get your teams together to create your own snow sculpture, just like the professionals.  You will create your own snow form, sculpt and shape it until you’ve created your very own masterpiece.  Teams should consist of 2 – 4 individuals and they can range in age.  Reach out to Pete Wilke at pwilke@fdl.com to sign up.  First 20 teams will be accepted, so sign up before it’s too late. Families welcome.

Lakeside Park Winter Fun Zone @ Oven Island – Lakeside Park

Bring the whole family out to Lakeside Park to participate in our Winter Fun Zone.  Activities/attractions include the biggest snowman in Wisconsin, Photo Ops,  Build the Best Snowman Competition, A snowball target range, The Big Hill activity area and meet and take a ride with the Siberian Outpost sled dogs.
