Downtown Snow Land presented by Ahern @ Downtown Fond du Lac
Feb 8 – Feb 9 all-day

Walk through Snow Land on Friday before or after the Running of the Sturgeon Parade, bring the whole family and some friends downtown to participate in the Downtown Amateur Snow Sculpting competition on Saturday and view the sculptures throughout the weekend.  While you’re here, the kids can climb the Big Hill!  Additional activities to be added.

Wisconsin Snow Sculpting Competition presented by Sunburst Winter Sports Park @ Downtown, outside Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts
Feb 8 – Feb 10 all-day

The best snow sculptors in the state and surrounding region travel to Fond du Lac to compete in the 2018 Wisconsin Snow Sculpting Competition in hopes of winning a trip to the 2019 US Competition and a $1,000 1st Prize.  No alcohol consumption or possession will be allowed outside of each establishment or event space.

Daily Schedule:
*Some teams compete well into the early morning hours.  Hours vary by day/team.

Sturgeon Spectacular Kick-off Celebration and Concert @ Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts

The Sturgeon Spectacular kicks off at Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts with live music by Copper Box.  Registration will be open for the 2019 Sturgeon Queen.  New this year, hang out at the Ice Bar on the Plaza, watch the snow sculptors get started or come inside and grab a drink. Drinks will be available for purchase.  Food options will also be located at the event site.

Live Music starts at 6 PM

Running of the Sturgeon Parade @ Downtown Fond du Lac (Parade Start: Western Ave. & Main St.)
Feb 8 @ 5:30 pm – 6:00 pm

The Sturgeon Spectacular Parade starts with the Running of the Sturgeon.  The first 50 children, ages 15 and under will receive a light-up Sturgeon Fin for participating.  Grab your friends, and dress up in your favorite Wisconsin garb and join Schmooch Schneider in chasing after and spearing the elusive sturgeon.  Floats will have parking available to join the party on Portland Street.

The parade starts at Western Ave. (Fourth St.) & Main St. and turns right at Sheboygan Street.  Ends at Thelma.

Downtown Chili Crawl presented by
Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership @ Various locations in downtown Fond du Lac

Sample chili at participating businesses and vote for your favorite! 200 first-come, first-serve tickets will be available for $10 (cash or check only) at Hopper’s (77 N. Main) prior to the event. Event check-in and sales of any remaining tickets (if available) will be located at 131 S. Main Street on the day of the event.

Downtown Ice Sculpting Competition @ Various Locations, Downtown Fond du Lac

Walk through beautiful downtown Fond du Lac to see these talented carvers create works of art right on the sidewalks of downtown.  Get your picture taken with each one.  Grab a map and ballot at Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts, and set out for your favorite masterpiece.  Cash Prizes will be awarded for “Best in Show” and also “The People’s Choice”.  Sculptures will be available for viewing as weather allows.

Outdoor Hockey Alumni Classic presented by Drexel Building Supply @ Grande Cheese Ice Rink at Lakeside Park

Fond du Lac High School/LP Goodrich Alumni face off against Saint Mary’s Springs Alumni for the 2nd Annual Outdoor Hockey Alumni Classic as part of the Sturgeon Spectacular.  Alumni from both schools test their skills under the lights on an outdoor rink at Lakeside Park.  Come out and cheer for your team!

If you’re a hockey alumni of the Saint Mary’s Springs Ledgers or Fond du Lac Cardinals and interested in participating, please contact Pete Wilke at 920-923-3010.  Registration deadline is Monday, January 14th, so don’t delay!

Come celebrate a successful first day of sturgeon spearing with all your friends and family.  Boogie & The Yo-Yo’z will be rocking Oven Island at Lakeside Park in our heated tent shelter and event space. Enjoy the music and watch the 2019 Sturgeon Queen be named.   Beer and wine coolers will be available until the party’s over.  Lakefront Brewery will also be offering beer specials.

Tent open to 21 years of age and older, only.  Don’t forget your ID!

Come join us for a scenic run throughout Lakeside Park.  The courses will wind through Lakeside Park for an fun tour of Oven Island & Softball Island. Early registration is $10 per person and includes a Sturgeon Spectacular long-sleeve T-shirt.  Late registration (after January 21st) will not include a Sturgeon Spectacular long-sleeve T-shirt.  Agnesian HealthCare is a member of SSM Health.
