Come see how water shapes Wisconsin.  Lake Winnebago, along with other waterways of Wisconsin hold a vast amount of culture and history.  Come explore our state’s long relationship with water and the impact we have had on our vast waterways. The Fond du Lac County Historical Society presents an exhibit for all ages.  For more information, click here.

Bring the whole family or some friends downtown and check out all the cool miniature snow sculptures scattered on Main Street Plaza.  Bring your family and friends and walk through the miniature winter village.

Sturgeon Spectacular Window Displays @ Various Locations Downtown
Feb 11 all-day

Make sure to stop and see the beautiful window murals and displays at our participating downtown restaurants, retail and service locations.  Locations will be marked on our Sturgeon Spectacular map and that map will also be available online.  Decorations and Painting will begin in January and be available through February.  Come get in the festive spirit and see all the cool and creative scenes.

Wisconsin Snow Sculpting Competition presented by Sunburst Winter Sports Park @ Downtown, outside Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts
Feb 11 @ 7:00 am – 2:00 pm

The best snow sculptors in the state and surrounding region travel to Fond du Lac to compete in the 2018 Wisconsin Snow Sculpting Competition in hopes of winning a trip to the 2019 US Competition and a $1,000 1st Prize.  Come see the final day as teams put on their finishing touches and refine their pieces.  No alcohol consumption or possession will be allowed outside of the event space.

Girls Outdoor Hockey Tournament presented by
Blue Line Family Ice Center @ Drexel Building Supply Ice Rink at Lakeside Park

Championship Round
Girls Hockey Tournament will be held for the first time on the ice rink at Oven Island within Lakeside Park.  A heated tent will be offered for teams to prepare and suit up.  Concessions will be offered by the Fond du Lac Blue Line Ice Skating Center.  Tournament open to teams across the United States.  All participants will receive a commemorative 2018 Sturgeon Spectacular patch.

Lakeside Park Winter Fun Zone presented by Horicon Bank @ Oven Island – Lakeside Park
Feb 11 @ 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

Bring the whole family out to Lakeside Park to participate in our Winter Fun Zone.  In cooperation with the Children’s Museum of Fond du Lac, Horicon Bank will bring you activities throughout the day including Putt Putt in the snow.  Help us sculpt & decorate our Gigantic Sturgeon and play in the other snow mounds.  Play games with Gilbert the Goose and Ollie the Otter from Horicon Bank or test your arm against Weaver from the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders in a fast pitch snow-ball competition. Make sure to take a silly picture inside our Sturgeon Spectacular Family Frame while you’re there!  To keep you warm, there will be hot chocolate for the kids, and coffee for the adults provided by Horicon Bank’s Blue Goose Coffee House.

Shantytown Fun at Children’s Museum of Fond du Lac @ Children's Museum of Fond du Lac

Bring the whole family out to the Children’s Museum for indoor and outdoor fun! Design your own sturgeon fish decoy, construct a mini shanty, and explore the Museum’s exhibits including an outdoor sturgeon fishing simulation.  Fun for all ages.  $1 Off Admission for all Museum Guests.

Purchase a commemorative Sturgeon Spectacular mug at Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts all weekend for $2.00, while supplies last.   You can then use that mug to “Spear the Beer” and other drink specials at participating downtown locations.  No alcohol consumption or possession will be allowed outside of each establishment or event space.

Day 3 will bring more kite and sailing activities to Lake Winnebago, where area riders are able to share the free ride experience of the winter winds.  This will also serve as an alternate competition day if conditions require.

Come on down to the Drexel Building Supply Ice Rink at Lakeside Park for free skating.  If you don’t have skates, skate rentals will be available on-site for a minimal fee.  Snacks and warm beverages will also be available.

Guys on Ice @ Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts

Come see one of the most hilarious shows in the country.  The Guys on Ice bring the Wisconsin culture to life in this musical about ice fishing and friendship.  Beer, wine and other cocktails will be available in the Great Hall.
