Opening Rounds
Girls Hockey Tournament will be held for the first time on the ice rink at Oven Island within Lakeside Park.  A heated tent will be offered for teams to prepare and suit up.  Concessions will be offered by the Fond du Lac Blue Line Ice Skating Center.  Tournament open to teams across the United States.  All participants will receive a commemorative 2018 Sturgeon Spectacular patch.

Snow-ga @ Oven Island – Lakeside Park

Presented by the Fond du Lac Center for Spirituality and Healing, Yoga instructors will lead you through breathing exercises and yoga poses at beautiful Lakeside Park.  Clear your head and stretch before your run, race or before your game gets started.  No charge.  Open to all.

Sturgeon Spectacular Fun Run & Dog Jog
presented by Agnesian HealthCare @ Oven Island – Lakeside Park

Come join us for a scenic run throughout Lakeside Park.  The courses will wind through Lakeside Park for an fun tour of Oven Island & Softball Island.  Early registration has been extended.  Early registration is $10 per person and includes a Sturgeon Spectacular long-sleeve T-shirt.  To pre-register, click the link or call the Fond du Lac Visitors Bureau at 920-923-3010.  Proceeds will go toward the Agnesian HealthCare Foundation*.  Late registration (after January 22nd) will not include a Sturgeon Spectacular long-sleeve T-shirt.  *Agnesian HealthCare is now part of SSM Health.

Bring your four-legged friend and participate in the Dog Jog*!  Dogs are free, but owner/handler is required to register for Fun Run.  Please see rules below.

Dog Jog Rules

  1. Please only bring dogs that are well-behaved and used to being around other dogs and people
  2. Dogs should be kept on leash that is shorter than six feet – no retractable leashes, which may be hazardous in a crowd.
  3. Please clean up after your dog – bags are available but you can bring your own
  4. Limit one dog per person
  5. Dogs should be at least six-months-old and up to date on vaccinations
  6. Please remember, no dogs are allowed in the facilities
Winter Softball Classic presented by Kwik Trip @ Softball Island – Lakeside Park

Come participate in the coolest softball tournament around because we’re playing on the snow.  Fond du Lac Softball, Inc. will be hosting the first ever Winter Softball Classic coed softball tournament.  Play for the trophy and stay for the fun!  There will be a $1,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Lakeside Park Winter Fun Zone presented by Horicon Bank @ Oven Island – Lakeside Park

Bring the whole family out to Lakeside Park to participate in our Winter Fun Zone.  In cooperation with the Children’s Museum of Fond du Lac, Horicon Bank will bring you activities throughout the day including Putt Putt in the snow.  Help us sculpt & decorate our Gigantic Sturgeon and play in the other snow mounds.  Play games with Gilbert the Goose and Ollie the Otter from Horicon Bank or test your arm against Weaver from the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders in a fast pitch snow-ball competition. Make sure to take a silly picture inside our Sturgeon Spectacular Family Frame while you’re there!  To keep you warm, there will be hot chocolate for the kids, and coffee for the adults provided by Horicon Bank’s Blue Goose Coffee House.

Spear the Fatty presented by
Wheel & Sprocket @ Oven Island – Lakeside Park

As part of the Wheel & Sprocket Hugh Jass bike series, racers of all levels will race through Lakeside Park and participate in games like Hammaschlagen along the way.  Demo bikes will be available for anyone interested in trying out a Fat Tire Bike for the first time.  Register here and get more information.

Sturgeon Queen Competition presented by The Goldsmith @ Oven Island – Lakeside Park

Come participate in the 2018 Official Sturgeon Queen Competition, or just watch this year’s candidates be tested in sturgeon-themed contests.  Registration will be open at our Downtown and Lakeside Park information booths prior to the competition.  The tradition has come a long way since the first Sturgeon Queen was crowned 64 years ago.  The competition will be held on Oven Island inside Lakeside Park, starting at 5 pm.  The official crowing will take place inside the heated tent shelter at the intermission of the Boogie & The Yo yo’z Concert, tentatively scheduled for 8:30 pm.

Outdoor Hockey Alumni Classic presented by Alliant Energy & Baker Cheese @ Drexel Building Supply Ice Rink at Lakeside Park

Fond du Lac High School/LP Goodrich Alumni face off against Saint Mary’s Springs Alumni for the 1st Annual Outdoor Hockey Alumni Classic as part of the Sturgeon Spectacular.  Alumni from both schools test their skills under the lights on an outdoor rink at Lakeside Park.  Come out and cheer for your team!

We’re creating the coolest hang-out at Lakeside Park.  Warm up in our heated tent and jam along with our DJ or grab a pair of ice skates and skate with all your friends.  Or just sit around the bonfire and tell your favorite campfire story.  Concessions will be available all night long.  Skate rentals available onsite for $5 with deposit.

DJ begins at 7pm
Youth skate starts immediately following Alumni Game (Approximately 7:15 pm)

 

Boogie & The Yo-Yo’z @ Oven Island – Lakeside Park

Come celebrate a successful first day of sturgeon spearing with all your friends and family.  Boogie & The Yo-Yo’z will be rocking Oven Island at Lakeside Park in our heated tent shelter and event space. Enjoy the music and watch the 2018 Sturgeon Queen be named.   Beer and wine will be available until the party’s over.
